ICSC guests work hard, play harder
With music thumping, alcohol flowing and choice cuts of steak tempting guests, the Newmark Knight Grubb Frank bash last night at the Marquee nightclub at the Cosmopolitan hotel was one of the more festive of the parties surrounding the annual ICSC’s RECon in Las Vegas.
But that was just one of about 50 parties thrown between Saturday and tonight. The Real Deal snapped pictures of New York City retail players at events such as Cushman & Wakefield’s poolside cocktail party at the Four Seasons last night, the Shopping Center Group’s massive event at a ballroom in the Four Seasons on Sunday, and the Jones Day party at the Cosmopolitan on Sunday.
In addition, we walked the floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center, catching up with retail brokers like Jeffrey Roseman of Newmark and developers such as Ziel Feldman of HFZ Capital Group.

Winick Markets 4,000 Square Feet Of Retail Space In East Harlem
Winick Realty Group is exclusively marketing 4,000 square feet of retail space at 1636-1642 Lexington Avenue in East Harlem on behalf of United Management and Certes Partners,The Commercial Observer has learned.
Winick’s Monica Kass and Jeremy Schwartz, along with Executive Vice President Lori Shabtai, will lead the effort on five storefronts that range from 306 square feet to 2,226 square feet. The freshly renovated stores will offer 100 feet of frontage on Lexington Avenue and 85 feet on East 104th Street.
“[United and Certes] are renovating now,” Ms. Kass said. “They took out all the stores within the last six months, ripped everything out and are really redoing the whole thing.”
Discount stores and other local shops had existed at the address. “It will stay charming and keep a neighborhood feel,” Ms. Kass said. “It won’t be modern and all glass.”
The ideal tenants will suit local needs rather than redefine the neighborhood’s character. Four of the five stores are smaller than 500 square feet, and the larger corner space is more likely to woo a national bank or restaurant tenant.
“We want to keep the integrity of the community,” Ms. Kass said.
Several schools are nearby, including The Lexington Academy, DREAM Charter School and Amber Charter School. Ms. Kass said that tenants that benefited local children and young families–an after school facility, for example–would be particularly good fits.
