ICSC guests work hard, play harder

monica kass, steven baker, lori shabtaiWith music thumping, alcohol flowing and choice cuts of steak tempting guests, the Newmark Knight Grubb Frank bash last night at the Marquee nightclub at the Cosmopolitan hotel was one of the more festive of the parties surrounding the annual ICSC’s RECon in Las Vegas.

But that was just one of about 50 parties thrown between Saturday and tonight. The Real Deal snapped pictures of New York City retail players at events such as Cushman & Wakefield’s poolside cocktail party at the Four Seasons last night, the Shopping Center Group’s massive event at a ballroom in the Four Seasons on Sunday, and the Jones Day party at the Cosmopolitan on Sunday.

In addition, we walked the floor at the Las Vegas Convention Center, catching up with retail brokers like Jeffrey Roseman of Newmark and developers such as Ziel Feldman of HFZ Capital Group.

TRD’s updates from ICSC

Danielle-Winick-1Winick Realty Group has unveiled a redesigned logo, the first revision since Jeff Winick founded the Midtown-based firm in 1982.

The new logo uses a slimmer font with the same blue color. The change comes a week after Real Estate Weekly reported that Winick’s daughter Danielle planned to join the company.

The firm started to consider a new logo about six months ago, Steven Baker, company president, said.

“We have updated our corporate look to better reflect our market leadership,” he said.

Lori Shabtai, company executive vice president, described the new look as “fresher and more modern.”

TRD’s essential ICSC guide

ICSC-2011-central-hallMore than 33,000 real estate professionals are expected to descend on Las Vegas this month for commercial real estate’s largest conference, the International Council of Shopping Centers’ RECon Las Vegas.

“Three years ago, I had meetings everywhere, I was going from building to building, and I ended up spending the three days in the limo!” Shabtai recalled. As a result, she felt like she didn’t spend enough time at Winick’s booth and walking around the “malls.”

“Schedule, schedule, schedule, and look at the map,” she advised.
