SAY CHEESE PLEASE

Lamazou Cheese, the 16-year-old cheese and meat shop located in the heart of Murray Hill, signed a lease for its first restaurant at 344 Third Avenue, between E. 25th and 26th Streets.

“Lamazou Cheese is a staple in the community and we expect their neighborhood following to make this restaurant a huge success,” said Winick Realty Group’s Joshua Singer, who represented both the tenant and the ownership, ATA Enterprises, with his associate Cosmo Montemurro. The asking rent for the 3,600 foot spot was $100 a foot.

The location, described by co-owners Nancy and Aziz Lamazou as their “dream restaurant,” is expected to open in late September or early October. This Mediterranean bistro will incorporate Lamazou’s expertise in cheeses into a menu based on French culinary techniques influenced by south European and North African cuisine. The location’s warm contemporary design will also include a full bar, a salumeria and a distinctive wine list from around the world.
