WINICK REALTY LEASES UNION SQUARE AVAILABILITY TO DAVID Z

David Z, the 20-year-old brand-name shoe store with seven locations in New York and New Jersey, has leased 5,000 square feet at 815 Broadway, located between 11th and 12th streets, just steps from the excitement of Union Square.

Landlord Magnum Real Estate Group had chosen the Winick team to find the perfect long-term tenant to fill this charming and history-steeped retail space which was home to an antique store for many years. As this stretch of Broadway has changed from what was once one antique shop after another, explained Winick Realty Group LLC’s Lori Shabtai, executive vice president, Monica Kass, director, and Kelly Gedinsky, associate director. “Ownership wanted a specific type of retailer who not only had a proven track record but who also understood the unique needs of Union Square shoppers,” said the brokers, who represented ownership in the transaction. Kimberly McCullogh of KEM Co. represented David Z.

The retailer will occupy 2,500 square feet on the ground floor, as well as 2,500 square feet on the lower level. Among the key features of this sensational space are 20-foot ceilings, 20 feet of frontage on Broadway and original mosaic floors and stained glass that give it an extraordinary charm.

Winick Unveils Retail Showpiece

Winick Realty Group LLC is leasing two distinctive retail stores at 620 Sixth Avenue, the indoor-outdoor retail complex that encompasses the entire block between 18th and 19th Streets in Chelsea.

The two new spaces offer small retailers the chance to join co-tenants Bed Bath & Beyond, TJ Maxx and Marshall’s for the very first time.

Two interior retail spaces were constructed on either side of the escalators, where there had previously been unused open space.

Designed as glass cubes, the stores measure 1,100 s/f and can either house separate retailers or be combined for one 2,200 s/f leasing opportunity. Ideal uses include opticians, cosmetics, chocolatiers and vitamin shops—all non-cooking uses—and the cubes are available for immediate occupancy.

QQ Nails and Spa to Open its Fourth Manhattan Location

QQ Nails and Spa is opening its fourth Manhattan location. The company has inked a lease for 10 years with Charles Washington LP for 2,500 square feet at 249 Eighth Ave. situated on the corner of West 23rd Street.

The company will take over the space formerly occupied by Jamba Juice. The asking rent for the space was $125 per square foot. Michael Gleicher from Winick Realty Group represented both the landlord and the tenant in the transaction.

Michael Gleicher is a broker at Winick Realty GroupQQ Nails and Spa, a salon and spa with three other New York City locations, has signed a lease for a 2,500-square-foot space at 249 Eighth Avenue, just off the corner of 23rd Street.

Winick Realty Group LLC associate director Michael Gleicher represented both the tenant and the landlord in this long-term lease transaction.

The salon will occupy the space formerly leased by Jamba Juice and join neighboring retailers such as T-Mobile, Starbucks and Vitamin Shoppe.

Smart Fashion to Open its First Retail Store

A new clothing store will be opened in the garment district. Smart Fashion will open its first retail store on West 36th Street located between Seventh Avenue and Broadway.

Smart Fashion has signed a long-term lease with Foremost Real Estate for 2,000 square feet for a new store. The asking rent for the space was about $60 per square foot. Tatiana Jung-Voevodina and Richard Smith of Winick Realty represented both the tenant and the landlord in the transaction.
