Energy Kitchen To Continue Expansion In 2010
NEW YORK, NY—Health-conscious fast food chain Energy Kitchen capped off a successful 2009 with two new locations opening in the second half of the year. And according to the company, that’s only the beginning. Energy Kitchen plans to expand by an additional 50 locations in the Tristate area over the next three years.
Energy Kitchen currently has nine locations throughout Manhattan, including its new 1,800-square-foot flagship store in the Flatiron at 18 West 23rd Street, which opened in October, and a 1,700-square-foot location on the Upper East Side at 1628 Second Avenue, which opened in August. Both transactions were handled by Jamie Rogers of Winick Realty Group, the exclusive broker for Energy Kitchen.
“As more and more consumers begin to realize that fast food doesn’t have to be fat food, we look forward to continuing to provide them with a healthy, delicious alternative to their dining options,” said Randy Schechter, Managing Partner at Energy Kitchen. The concept, which opened its first New York City location in 2004, features a low-calorie, low-fat menu with no item over 500 calories.
With an eye on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, Energy Kitchen plans to open its tenth location there in 2010. Moreover, the chain is currently looking for 1,200-to-2,500-square-foot spaces in Midtown, Lower Manhattan, the outer boroughs, and New Jersey.
