NEW YORK, NY-Chicken BonChon, the quick-service restaurant specializing in Korean fried chicken, signed a 10-year lease at 104 John Street, between Cliff Street and Pearl Street, in New York’s Financial District. The chain’s latest franchise location fills the 2,000 square-foot space previously occupied by vegetarian restaurant Zen Palate.
With the John Street location, Chicken BonChon aims to serve the busy lunch and dinner crowds of downtown office workers, as well as the growing residential population of the Financial District, seven days a week. The store’s December opening is concurrent with that of a corporate location on W. 38th Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenues. The chicken purveyor has multiple locations on the East Coast, as well as one in Los Angeles.
Darrell Rubens, senior managing director, and Lee Block of Winick Realty Group represented both tenant and landlord, The Moinian Group, in this transaction.
